Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Heart' (Purple Spiderwort) - This popular trailing house plant is also a pretty durable groundcover or accent plant to about 18 inches tall in the garden. It has 2 to 5+ inch long, narrow pointed purple leaves arranged alternately along thick herbaceous segmented stems. The leaves are covered in soft pale hairs the their bases form a sheath around the stems. The three petaled purple-pink flowers with yellow stamens arise among the leaves near the tips of the branches primarily in summer but can often be seen at other times in frost free gardens. Plant in light shade or part sun in most any soil type and water regularly to occasionally - surprising drought tolerant for such a tropical looking plant. The leaf color varies with amount of sun and water with the best color in the brightest light. Hardy and evergreen in frost free gardens but will freeze back in colder locations - root hardy to 10°F or less - some claim it will grow as a perennial in USDA Zone 6, where mulching to protect the crown is advantageous. This attractive and unusual colored plant makes a great hanging pot specimen or as a creeping groundcover with bold color for the sun or shade garden. Some consider this plant from eastern Mexico to be invasive, but we have never seen it get out of hand and it has behaved quite well in our garden for over 25 years. The stems are a bit fragile so break it brushed against or walked on but the plant grows rapidly and so covers up damage in short order. Though not particularly dangerous, the juices of this plant have a skin irritant that can cause a rash or blisters and has been used in the past to cosmetically redden a person's cheeks. This plant is native to a wide area of Mexico from Tamaulipas east to Veracruz and south to the Yucatan peninsula. The name Tradescantia honors John Tradescant the elder (1570s-1638), an 17th century English naturalist, who was a collector and traveler and the gardener to the Earl of Salisbury and who traveled to Virginia in 1617. The species name pallida is from the Latin word 'pallidus' meaning "pallid" or "pale" in reference to the pale flowers of the species compared to other Tradescantia. This plant was originally described as Setcreasea pallida in 1911 by the American botanist Joseph Nelson Rose, famous for his work in Mexico on the Cactaceae. The cultivar name 'Purpurea' is a synonym and it also goes by the common names Purple Secretia and Purple Queen. The information provided on this page is based on the research we have conducted about this plant in our nursery library, from what we have found about it on reliable online sources, as well as from observations of our nursery crops of this plant as well as of plants growing in the nursery's garden and those in other gardens. We also will incorporate comments received from others and welcome getting feedback from anyone who may have additional information, particularly if this information includes cultural information that would aid others in growing Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Heart'. Perfect Lightweight Sheets for Sensitive Hot sleepers
Color: Cream, Size: Queen
These sheets are soft, thin, and absolutely perfect for me. I have advanced CRPS and erythromelalgia, so I deal with severe nerve burning and heat sensitivity and cannot tolerate being overheated at all. I keep our AC between 56–64 degrees constantly, and since our studio is small, it usually stays around 61–63. These sheets have been a lifesaver for sleep. They are lightweight, breathable, and don’t trap heat, which helps me avoid extreme flare-ups and the intense burning pain I deal with. I'm bedridden so I need to be comfortable. They feel comfortable against my skin and don’t worsen my symptoms when I’m already in a lot of pain and look nice, wash nicely. For the price, they are also a great value. I’m genuinely grateful to have found something that helps me rest more comfortably. Will be buying more for us and gifts.

Great set of sheets
Color: Blue Pinstripe, Size: Twin
These microfiber sheets are incredibly soft and comfortable, especially for the price. I purchased the blue and white set for my daughter’s bed, and she loves them. The colors are bright and exactly as pictured. They fit the mattress well, don’t slip off the corners, and wash up nicely without pilling or fading. The brushed microfiber feels cozy and lightweight, making them great for year-round use. Overall, a great value and I would definitely buy another set.

Bold Colors, Great Quality, and an Amazing Price - Perfect Everyday Sheets
Color: Black, Size: Full
The Amazon Basics lightweight bed sheets have been such a great buy for my boys’ bedrooms. They come in a wide variety of colors, which made it easy to match each room’s style — and the colors stay bold and vibrant even after multiple washes, which honestly surprised me. The quality is excellent for the price. The fabric stays soft, doesn’t pill, and holds up well to frequent washing (a must in kids’ rooms!). Each set includes a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillow shams, which makes the value even better — most sets at this price point don’t include that many pieces. Overall, these sheets are affordable, durable, colorful, and comfortable. I loved them enough to buy them in multiple colors, and they’ve held up beautifully. A fantastic budget-friendly choice for any household.

Color: Frosted Lavender, Size: Twin, Color: Frosted Lavender, Size: Twin
I really like these sheets. They are soft, lightweight, and fit my twin mattress perfectly. The lavender color looks beautiful in person and they feel comfortable to sleep on. After washing, they still looked nice and didn’t wrinkle much. Great quality for the price!
